To foster a positive learning attitude among students and enhance their learning motivation, our school adopts students’ mother tongue as the medium of instruction. It is hoped that students’ language foundation and subject knowledge can, therefore, be better consolidated.
We put great emphasis on our biliterate trilingual education. We attach equal importance to mother-tongue learning and students' competence in English and Putonghua. In order to improve students' English competence, selected modules in subjects such as Mathematics, Science, History, and Geography are taught in English in designated junior-form classes. English learning materials are incorporated in different subjects to enhance students' training in English. We foster a biliterate trilingual learning environment through regular activities such as English and Putonghua morning assemblies, English Reading Week, and participation in the Hong Kong Schools Speech Festival and the Hong Kong School Drama Festival.
Through extended learning activities in English and the collaboration among non-language teachers and English teachers, the school conducts inter-disciplinary English language enhancement programmes in a bid to strengthen students’ English language ability. Concerning the English Language subject, curriculum is reformed and teaching materials are tailor-made so as to cater for individual differences among students and enhance their learning efficacy.
